Communism - 5/6 - Guerrilla Wars

Part 5. GUERRILLA WARS (1973)
Guerrilla Wars of Cuba, Vietnam, Afghanistan

or

Excerpts:

What happened in Cuba, became a Legend.

And much of the profit from gambling and prostitution was diverted to the Generals, who ran the country, with an army of 46,000 men under president Batista.

Soon Castro nationalized US interests and introduced socialist reform, Washington came to fear it had Communist Regime at his door step. The Cubans
Che Guarra showed them how, describing a way of war could be launched with a small group of activist. . . but his own theory failed him, he was trapped down and killed.

People’s War means all of the people participate in the war, older or young, each person has a task.

In a try to remove a cover of guerrillas forest,
Hundreds of Thousands of Tons of Date Palms, high explosive phosphorus bombs, dropped.

Vietnam might never have succeeded without they have support of outside country, the 500 miles jungle lied on north through of Laos and Cambodia,

By then 58,000 Americans have died.

Now the Communist Ideology that has sustained them through a war, will be tested against the problems poverty and construction the country faced.

Afghanistan (1978 Holy War)
Shia agreed to smuggle the weapon across the city

Like in Vietnams, the guerrilla fighters were not self sufficient, they depended on supplies of outside, .. from Pakistan, money and arms from other muslim countries, and the CIA.

In guerrilla war victory is seldom followed by easy peace. Success in war does not guarantee success in governing a country.

Communism - 4/6 - Great Leap

or
http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/communism/

Excerpts:

Mao’s version of Communism was to be foundation for a purer, fairer more progressive state than the one have emerged in Soviet Union.

Landlords were killed.

Birds were accused, (spoiling) the crops. … mobilize the people to kill the birds, villagers of all ages joined in… whoever killed the most sparrows praised and rewards, those who got fewer criticized and encouraged to do better on next day.
In fact the campaign back-fired, with the sparrows gone, more insects survived to strip the crops.

people were asked to look-out for neighbors or fellow workers who seem to meet the party’s description rightist, or capitalist, or counter revolutionaries, they were then denounced.

But the boldest step to harness the energy and the enthusiasm of the people came in 1958, to speed up progress Mao wanted to use the force he believed in most. China’s share numbers for his great Leap forward. Propaganda cartoon showed the how Chinese men went to overtake the western industry and food production.

Lands, ceremonially given to the peasants after the revolution was not taken back, and now peasants were herded in huge commune.

Private ownership has already been eliminated and now the family life was to be destroyed as well.

(Mao ordered to double the product of steel)
Slowly it became clearer that after so much effort in time, after so much wood have been burned, and so many pipes and pans consigned into the flames, the Steel produced was impure weak and useless.

Full effect of disastrous experiments could bee seen in 1959, while the peasants were making steal, they had done little else …
In 1960 scarcity turned into major famine.
In a secret report:
Their own figure showed that over 20 million died for the famine, it was almost certainly more.

Great Leap Failed.

Revolutionary Enthusiasm hadn’t been enough.

In aftermath Mao kept aside and left the president Leo Sao Chiun the country.

Large Commune abandoned, Chinese Peasants were allowed to have land again, and could sell the products in open market. They were allowed to live with their family and return to their normal life.

Revolution means Rebellion and Violence.
Books burnt, Museum pillaged
The anarchy spread, school and hospitals closed, offices and factories were in chaos.

We didn’t know what have happened to country.
Many workers committed suicide.

After 2 years Army called … to restore orders and help reestablish the party’s authority.
Red Guards were sent to country side to cool off and learn from peasants.
And the Cultural Revolution ended in 1976, with Mao himself.

Excerpts:

The bloodiest war of the 20th century was almost over. Although they ware allies, the troops come from two different worlds, the Communist East and the Capitalist West.

“we are talked the cease of Fascism was the important step for the victory of Socialism all over the world. (Capt. Anatoly Semiriaga, Soviet Army, Berlin – 1945)

“The Germans were not the sole responsible for this war, they were the settler, but whole imperial system. Imperialism was the responsible.”

Churchill vivid pictures of continent divided by an iron curtain helped to change the public mood.
THREE EQUALS = Churchill (UK), Roosevelt (US), Stalin (USSR)

1947 – Year of Division

Berlin remained under the joint control at the war time allies, its western part was an outpost for capitalism, deep inside the communist world.
All access of control to Berlin was controlled by the Soviets. In June 1948, with no warning they shut off the city.

Inside this closed world, the information about the west was totally controlled.

“we knew our society was just, and that capitalism was terrible, people are exploited, that’s what we’re taught, it did’nt matter how badly I live now, I hoped we would better, I believed in Stalin and knew the life would improve.” (Tamara Banketik)

Stalin died in 1953.
In the countries of Eastern Europe, they were called for more independent from Moscow.

Russian Army came into the schools, burnt school books.

Jazz was banned … it was same today he plays jazz tomorrow he’ll betray the nation.

“3.3 million people have come to the West since 1945. they come from all walks of life. Many are farmers, because private farming has been abolished.”

In a sense I thought, I feel bad that all the lives were lost but it certainly saved mine, .. I thought over all never fact was saved many many lives, and was a beautiful thing. (Sheldon Johnson, US Army, 1945)

Fearful Americas new power, Joseph Stalin put his secret police .. acquire a bomb at any cost.
In 1946, the Soviet Union built 10 secret cities, know as Atom Garages, thousands of scientists and engineers were sent to work in them.

By 1949, the Soviets had what they wanted. The Atomic Race had begun in earnest.
(5 Atoms Tested in 11 Days)

Chernobyl
In April 1986, the accidents they have been told was impossible.. happened.
Prapiat was sealed off and left a ghost town.
All together 600,000 people were contaminated by Chernobyl.

Communism - 1/6 - Red Flag

Part 1. RED FLAG (1917)
Rise of Communism – Soviet Union

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xojvd_communism-1-of-6-the-red-flag_school

http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/communism/

Excerpts:

Soon after the revolution, Bolsheviks became know as the Russian Commuinst Party,
and moved the capital from St. Petersburg to Moscow.

But success was short list, the Communism uprising was crushed.
In Russia Communist had to fight for their own survival.

By the time he (Lenin) died he had created one party, one ideology state and an elaborate system of control. But Lenin had not achieved all the goals of Communism.

Whole economy was ours, we were the bosses, we’re working for ourselves.

It was ruthless to anyone challenge him; he (Stalin) demanded the obedience of all level.
The Church was the challenge for Communists, for millions of Russians it was still source of strength and offered the only alternate system of belief.
But the Communists were Atheists, and sort to remove the challenge by abolishing the church. (1930)

Kulaks
The greatest threat to the lives of the peasants came when Stalin decided to end private forming, (.. raise the food the country needed), a campaign was organized against the Richel peasants so called Kulaks, who said to be opposing Stalin’s plans.

Stalin said that Kulak should be liquidated as a class, over 3 million were shot or died as exile in the camps, State ceased the peasant’s farm employments, and they took over all the land which was not be farmed collectively. But the peasants did’nt want to collectivizations. They killed their live stocks rather than give them up. And the state took the grain. The result was famine. Over 5 years, 7 million died of starvation.

Stalin was not just using the harsh methods to push those changes he thought essential, he was obsessed by destroying the all potential opponents.

“You can’t imagine it Stalin is shooting all the present members of Polit Bureau, and he counted them off one by one.” (Ella Shistyer, arrested 1937)
